Industry Accreditations

FORS accreditation

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operators. FORS encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance. FORS provides accreditation pathways for operators of any type, and for those organisations that award contracts and specify transport requirements.

It can be overwhelming for an operator when preparing for FORS. The huge amount of policy writing and preparation can be daunting. We can provide you and your company with some much needed FORS help to attain your FORS accreditation.

Your FORS accreditation will provide a culture change from which your business will only benefit. It’s not just about compliance, it’s much more. Becoming a FORS member will help improve:

• Inter-company communication
• Workplace safety
• Increase efficiency
• Reduce costs
• Demonstrate an understanding and measurable application of good working practices and procedures in the transport industry.

ISO 9001 accreditation

ISO certification is not just about ‘badging’ an organisation to demonstrate that it is competent and will deliver the service or product it claims to deliver, in a manner it promises. It is much more than that. ISO represents a framework of professionalism, an endorsement that the companies which claim ISO verification can deliver their services and products to the level of professionalism and quality that they have promised their clients.

ISO 9001 sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is the only standard in the family that can be certified to (although this is not a requirement). It can be used by any organization, large or small, regardless of its field of activity.

There are over one million companies and organizations in over 170 countries recognised and certified to ISO 9001. The standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach, a strong structural aspect to your organisation and continual improvement.

Being accredited for ISO 9001 helps customers recognise that they will get consistent, good quality products and services and in turn the system brings many staple business benefits to your organisation.

We can help you gain the 9001 accreditation either by itself or in conjunction with FORS.

Earned Recognition

The DVSA Earned Recognition scheme for vehicle operators is a new way to prove you meet driver and vehicle standards.

You regularly share performance information with DVSA. In return, your vehicles are less likely to be stopped for inspections.

Currently, it’s a voluntary scheme that’s designed to work for operators of all sizes in England, Scotland, and Wales. You need to have IT systems for vehicle maintenance and drivers’ hours. These will monitor if you’re meeting a set of key performance indicators (KPIs). Every 4 weeks, these systems will tell DVSA if you’ve missed any of the KPIs by a set amount. If this happens, DVSA will work with you to fix the issue.

We can install and implement and manage a DVSA approved IT system that will monitor all of the key areas measured by the Earned Recognition scheme. We will feed back to you on any of the KPIs that need to be addressed before the information goes to the DVSA so that action can be taken proactively before DVSA need to intervene.
